Overview
A night bus network serving eleven routes, all sharing daytime stops designed for daytime conditions. Riders were consistently boarding the wrong service — the existing signage simply wasn't readable under sodium lighting.
Approach
Route identity moved from colour to shape, because colour dies under sodium and shape doesn't. Each route gets a distinct geometric badge at a minimum 180mm, high-contrast, retroreflective. Numerals are set in a single weight at one size, network-wide, with no exceptions.
Outcome
Wrong-service boardings dropped 61% across the pilot corridor in the first quarter. The badge set is being extended to the full network.
